Treyarnon Focus- What’s on within walking distance??

You’ve arrived, you’ve unpacked, and made a cup of tea. Now the thought dawns on you, what the blazes are you going to do with your week of freedom?? A whole week of beach hanging isn’t for everyone, so we have compiled six days of fun to give you some inspiration.

Day One

Let’s get you walking! Head out on the coast path towards Constantine Bay, then follow it along as it winds past Boobys bay and around Trevose Head. Check out the lighthouse on the headland, still in use to this day, then continue on the path as it follows the curve of the coast. Stroll past the RNLI Lifeboat Station, perched on the side of the cliffs above Mother Ivey’s Bay, then cut back across towards Booby’s with a pitstop in the National Trust car park for a quick coffee, before heading back to base. Although the lifeboat station doesn’t currently have visitors’ tours, they do have a training launch on Wednesday evenings at approximately 6pm which is always a sight to see!

Day Two

Ok, now you get to have a beach day! Grab that bucket and net and head out to the rock pools. You have Treyarnon Bay on your doorstep, which at low tide has amazing hidden gulleys and pools on the right-hand side or head a little further to Boobys Bay for some of the best rockpools in the country. Check out the sites below for some amazing tips and tricks for how to find the best critters, and a handy guide to all the weird and wonderful things you will find.

Day Three

Ok, I am cheating with this one a bit as you will need to get the bus to Padstow to start the adventure, but as that only involves a short walk to the bus stop at the top of Constantine hill, I’m going to allow it. Book yourself and the crew in for Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga or Pilates session on The Camel Estuary, where you will learn how to achieve inner peace while doing a downward dog on an inflatable board. Maybe celebrate with a pasty afterwards before heading back on the bus, no need to tackle the parking situation or the winding Cornish roads, which should help prolong your feeling of Zen!!

Day Four

The activities continue! Wander up to Trevose Golf Club and have a crack at Padel Tennis, a super fun sort of tennis game played in a doubles format. Its fast and fun, and very addictive. Don’t be surprised if this becomes a new family fave.

Day Five

I mean, surely you didn’t think I was going to let you get away without a surf lesson, did you? This area has some amazing surf schools, and what better way to get to know the water than with a trained professional. Wander over to Harlyn Bay and visit the Harlyn Surf School, who are celebrating their 30th year on the beach this year, and who have a whole host of instructors ready to take on the challenge of getting you up and riding. Waves Surf School are based in St Merryn and will take you wherever the waves are best, their instructors have been surfing these breaks for years and know the beaches inside and out. Whoever you choose, we guarantee that this will be an amazing experience for all who take part.

Day Six

I think it’s probably time for a spot of relaxation before you head home. This amazing local company will come to your holiday home and massage your cares away. Offering a huge range of treatments, including the gorgeously named “Island Escape”, a full body massage using heated Lava shells, as well as facials and spa manicures, these guys will help you end your holiday in a state of bliss, and all from the comfort of your apartment.
