The eagle-eyed among you may recognise this lovely lot from the Channel 5 programme, Cornwall, A Year By The Sea, which featured the Watson Smyth family and the stunning farmland which they have been custodians of since 1954. Situated in the middle of their 1,000-acre estate, and with incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean, this well-stocked farm shop showcases not only their own incredible produce, but also has one of the best cheese counters in the known world. With the addition of the Roundhouse Deli, who serve amazing home-made soups, salads and meals to take away, this gem of a farm shop has something for everyone.

The Geach Family have been farming here for 7 generations, and with the current heir at the helm, the farm has focussed on producing incredible salads and veg, alongside rearing their own pork and lamb. Supplying the local restaurant trade, including Steins, The Pig and The Scarlet, ex-chef Ross’s understanding of incredible ingredients ensures that only the best is grown and sold. As well as a small shop on site, Ross hosts pop up events which showcase the farms best produce. Keep an eye out for the ever-popular workshops and courses, which will get you growing and grilling like a champion!
Sabzi Deli, Duke St, Padstow
A newer addition to the Padstow foodie scene, this wonderful deli specialises in delicious, creative dishes that change day by day. Owner Kate’s Iranian heritage provides a backdrop of amazing flavours, perfect for sharing with friends or just for you! Always featuring local and sustainable ingredients, this is food prepared with love and passion, and always as fresh as fresh can be. Grab a box to go or stay and enjoy a tahini bun alongside a damn-fine cup of coffee.

This little gem has the right idea, just the best of everything, when they have it. Check out the blackboards for info on when the varying produce is coming in, and place orders directly with the farm if you require a specific cut of their home-reared beef. Fridges are stocked with local milk, cheese and butter, and there is a rumour going around that the best chutney in the county is stocked here too. This self-service shop operates an Honesty Box policy, but there is a phone number to hand for any check-out mishaps.
St Kew Farm Shop, St Kew
https://www.stkewfarmshop.co.uk
This is the sort of farm shop where you pop in for a cabbage and come out with a gorgeous rug, a scented candle and a giant cactus. Selling just the loveliest things, it’s easy to while away some time here, and if hunger strikes, the café next door is a great spot for a refuel. No need to book, and with a small but mighty menu, expect tasty food, great coffee and possibly a touch of retail therapy before you leave………
Not a quite a farm shop but………

Not one for the vegans, but if you are considering a BBQ or a special dinner, head here to pick up your meat. These guys know their stuff, as they have been farming and butchering since 1880! Supplying some of the country’s best restaurants, this family business specialises in native breeds and 100% grass fed animals, and work with a network of small, local farms who use the same farming models. If you have a BBQ nerd in your life, a trip to Phillip Warrens could possibly be the best day of their holiday!
